Republicans have a higher opinion of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un than House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., according to a new poll from The Daily Beast.
The poll, conducted just after President Donald Trump’s summit with Kim in Singapore, found that more self-identified Republicans viewed Kim favorably than Pelosi.
- Kim favorable: 19 percent;
- Kim unfavorable: 68 percent;
- Pelosi favorable: 17 percent;
- Pelosi unfavorable: 72 percent.
Voters overall had a less favorable view of Kim and a more favorable view of Pelosi, though she remains the second-least liked person in Congress, just ahead of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., who nevertheless is much more popular with Democrats than Kim John Un.
- Kim favorable: 12 percent;
- Kim unfavorable: 75 percent;
- Pelosi favorable: 29 percent;
- Pelosi unfavorable: 47 percent;
- McConnell favorable: 20 percent;
- McConnell unfavorable: 43 percent.
The poll was conducted by Ipsos from June 14-15, surveying roughly 1,000 adults in the United States online.
