The political arm of the National Rifle Association, brought in $2.4 million in March – the biggest fundraising month in 15 years, The Hill is reporting.
The total is $1.5 million more than what the NRA’s Political Victory Fund raised in the same time period in 2017.
Most of the much came from small donors, who contributed less than $200 to the organization, The Hill noted.
This month’s haul is the most raised in one month by the Political Victory Fund since 2003, McClatchy newspapers reported.
The money accounts for the first full month of fundraising following the shooting deaths of 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
By contrast, the March for Our Lives group, founded after the shootings, brought in $3.5 million since Feb. 18. However, that money went toward organizing marches and helping families of the victims, McClatchey said.
