The Senate easily passed the massive omnibus package early Friday despite the defections of 23 Republicans and three who didn't cast a vote.

Passage was powered by the support of 39 Democrats who voted "yea."

Republican Sens. Bob Corker and Rand Paul made good on their promise to vote down the bill. They were joined, predictably, by fiscal conservatives Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Ben Sasse, Tom Cotton and Jeff Flake.

Sen. Chuck Grassley also voted down the measure, as did Louisiana Republicans senators John Kennedy and Bill Cassidy.

Republican Sen. John McCain, who's home in Arizona battling cancer, and Sens. Pat Toomey and Richard Burr didn't cast votes.
