Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi could be headed to the White House if her schedule is any indication, Politico reports.
Bondi is in Washington D.C. this week for several events, including a meeting she attended Monday with President Donald Trump and his Cabinet about a children's initiative.
On Wednesday, Bondi is moderating a women's empowerment panel at the White House with panelists Betsy DeVos, Trump's education secretary, Small Business Administration chief Linda McMahon, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services administrator Seema Verma.
There are rumors she might also take a role in helping combat the nation's opiate-addiction crisis. But Bondi said she and the White House would reveal additional details about plans at the appropriate time.
"I am working on some special projects with the White House," Bondi told Politico on Monday.
Bloomberg, in early January, reported Bondi had already secured a job in the Trump administration, a rumor that proved untrue.
At the time, White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters Bondi had been "a very trusted confidante and supporter of the president-elect."
He added: "I don't want to get ahead of any decisions or any announcements that may or may not come but she has been a very important person both in terms of the campaign and the transition and is a very valued opinion in the president elect's world right now."
Bondi came under scrutiny last year for the way her office handled complaints regarding Trump University.
