Claiming President Donald Trump is "saying false things" to the American people, Joe Biden is planning to start shadow daily coronavirus briefings Monday.

Biden, who is unlikely to have top U.S. health experts to rely on, said his briefings will address how he would handle the crisis if he were president and address what he considers "lies" and "failures" of Trump and his administration, according to Politico.

"President Trump stop saying false things, will ya?" Biden told reporters on a conference call Friday, per the report. "People are worried they are really frightened, when these things don't come through. He just exacerbates their concern. Stop saying false things you think make you sound like a hero and start putting the full weight of the federal government behind finding fast, safe, and effective treatments."

The news rankled Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale on Friday night.

Parscale tweeted:

"So much for national unity.

If a Republican did this to a Democrat president during a national crisis, the media would howl.

It's also dangerous because Biden will take attention from real updates Americans should know just to score political points."

Biden's Wilmington, Delaware, home is being geared up for his 2020 presidential campaign, including equipment to livestream events, host tele-press conferences, and broadcast interviews with TV networks, according to the report.

"I would like to get in the position and we're trying to work out so that the headquarters ... to be able to accommodate my directly answering questions in front of a press that's assigned to me," Biden told reporters, per Politico. "We've hired a professional team to do that now. And excuse the expression: That's a little above my pay grade to know how to do that."
