Vice President Mike Pence is missing President Donald Trump’s sendoff to attend Joe Biden’s inauguration due to “logistical challenges,” reports The Washington Post.

“VP Pence is not expected to attend President Trump’s sendoff at Joint Air Force Base Andrews tomorrow morning, per White House officials. He is attending the inauguration later in the day, and aides say it would be logistically challenging for the vice president to do both,” Washington Post White House Reporter Josh Dawsey tweeted Tuesday afternoon.

Trump will have a military-style send-off from Joint Base Andrews on Inauguration morning. He taped a video of his final message Monday in which he says he worked tirelessly for the American people.

"This week, we inaugurate a new administration and pray for its success in keeping America safe and prosperous," he says in the video, according to excerpts released by the White House. "We did what we came here to do — and so much more."

"America is not a timid nation of tame souls who need to be sheltered and protected from those with whom we disagree," he says.
