Ted Cruz's decision to name Carly Fiorina as his running mate has done little to sway voters in his direction, according to the results of a new poll.

A Morning Consult survey found that 18 percent of registered voters are more likely to vote for the Texas senator in the presidential race, should he capture the Republican nomination this summer.

Twenty-two percent of voters said they are less likely to vote for Cruz now that he has the former Hewlett Packard CEO and ex-presidential candidate on board.

Other key findings in the poll:
  • 25 percent of Republican voters are more likely to vote for Cruz because of Fiorina;
  • 24 percent are less likely to do so;
  • 25 percent of all registered voters polled hold a favorable view of Fiorina, compared to an unfavorable number of 39 percent.
  • 41 percent of GOP voters have a favorable view of Fiorina, with 36 percent holding an unfavorable opinion of her.
A Morning Consult survey in February found Fiorina's favorable/unfavorable ratings among Republican voters were split at 36 percent each.

Cruz, who trails Donald Trump in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, announced Fiorina as his running mate last week.
