Fifty-four percent of Americans say Senate Democrats should allow a vote on Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court, while 37 percent oppose it, a new NBC News/SurveyMonkey Poll reveals.

Here are the poll highlights:

  • 84 percent of Republicans polled want Senate Democrats to allow the Gorsuch vote, compared to 11 percent who oppose it.
  • 64 percent of Democrats say Senate Democrats should prevent a vote, while 31 percent say they should permit one.
  • 42 percent of those polled either "strongly approve" or "somewhat approve" of the way President Donald Trump is handling his job, while 56 percent either "somewhat disapprove" or "strongly disapprove."
  • 14 percent of those polled say the Republican Party is united; 28 percent say it is divided now, but will unite by 2018; and 52 percent say it will still be divided next year.
  • 29 percent say Democrats are united; 26 percent believe the party is divided, but will unite by 2018 and 40 percent say it will still be divided next year.

"The poll was conducted Friday, just after the Republican health care reform bill was pulled from a scheduled House vote, through Tuesday," NBC News reported. "The decision to withdraw the health care bill, backed by Speaker Paul Ryan, notably delays one of President Donald Trump's campaign promises to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.

Here is how the rest of the poll breaks down:

  • 53 percent have either a "very favorable" or "somewhat favorable" view of Obamacare, while 43 percent have an unfavorable opinion of it.
  • 39 percent say they either "strongly support" or "somewhat support" the Republican healthcare plan to repeal or replace Obamacare, while 57 percent "somewhat oppose" it or "strong oppose it."

The poll was conducted online from March 24 ro 28 among a national sample of 7,675 adults. The margin of error is plus or minus 1.7 percentage points.
