Donald Trump's popularity is on the rise as 46 percent of voters now have a favorable opinion of the president-elect, according to a Politico/Morning Consult poll released Monday.
The results:
- Favorable/somewhat favorable view of Trump: 46 percent.
- Somewhat unfavorable: 12 percent.
- Very unfavorable: 34 percent.
It's a 9-point uptick since the days before the election, according to the survey. Further, Trump's unfavorability rating has dropped 15 points to 46 percent, according to Politico.
"This honeymoon phase in common for new presidents," said Morning Consult cofounder and Chief Research Officer Kyle Dropp. "For example, Obama saw about a 20-point swing in his favor following the 2008 election."
Further, 53 percent said Trump's transition efforts are better or the same as past presidents, according to the survey.
The Politico/Morning Consult poll surveyed 1,885 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
