President Donald Trump on Monday blasted the "dirty" restaurant that refused to serve White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

The owner of the Red Hen, Stephanie Wilkinson, explained the decision to ask Sanders and the rest of her party to leave the restaurant, saying that Sanders works for an "inhumane and unethical" administration.

"I’m not a huge fan of confrontation," Wilkinson told The Washington Post. "I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals."

Wilkinson pointed to the Trump administration’s policies on transgender people in the military and the separation of migrant children from their parents at the border, and said she asked her staff what they wanted.

"Tell me what you want me to do. I can ask her to leave," Wilkinson said. "They said 'yes.'"
