WH's Sanders: Scaramucci's Passion Got 'the Best of Him'

Fox News' "The Story With Martha MaccCallum"

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said incoming communications director Anthony Scaramucci let his passion for serving President Donald Trump "get the best of him" in an X-rated tirade about top aides Reince Priebus and Steve Bannon.

In an interview on Fox News' "The Story With Martha MacCallum," Sanders said the Wall Street financier admittedly uses "colorful" language that sometimes is inappropriate.

"He's very passionate about the president and the president's agenda, and I think he may have let that get the best of him in that conversation," Sanders said.

She also dismissed the now-public feud between Scaramucci, Bannon, and Priebus, asserting "the bottom line is most of us here at the White House are focused on who has a job out in America, not who has a job here."

"Sometimes when you have the best people from around the country coming in with a variety of backgrounds, very different perspectives, you may not agree on everything," she added. "I think we have to push forward, and that's exactly what we are doing."

Before Sanders appearance on Fox, Scaramucci tweeted he would seek to stop using "colorful language" in public.
