President Donald Trump and Joe Biden are virtually tied in the key swing state of Florida, according to a new poll.
Results from the latest Quinnipiac University Poll of likely voters in Florida:
- Biden has 48% support and Trump has 45%. The narrow difference is just 0.2 percentage points outside the margin of error.
- 93% said they have made up their mind on who they will vote for in November.
- Among people who support Biden, 22% said they will vote for him because they like him, while 64% said they oppose Trump.
- Among people who support Trump, 53% say they will vote for him because they like him, while 28% said they oppose Biden.
- 42% said they will vote in person on Election Day, scheduled for Nov. 3, while 32% will cast their vote by mail and 23% said they will vote early at a polling location.
- 44% have a favorable opinion of Trump, while 41% said the same about Biden.
- Trump's approval rating is 46%.
According to the RealClearPolitics national polling average, Biden holds a 7.2-point lead with the election two months away.
The poll was conducted from Aug. 28-Sept. 1 among 1,235 likely voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.
