Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., on Sunday lashed out at former Vice President Joe Biden reported role in pressuring Ukraine’s leaders in 2016 to oust a prosecutor for corruption while his son Hunter was working for a company that would have benefited from the move.
In an interview on ABC News’ “This Week,” Paul said Americans would be “shocked to know that Joe Biden's son was making $50,000 a month just a couple of months after he was dishonorably discharged from the military for drugs.”
He also asserted “Biden was asking the prosecutor to lay off of the company that Hunter Biden was working for,” but was challenged by host George Stephanopoulos.
Paul replied, however, that Hunter Biden “got $50,000 a month right after he was kicked out of the military. That's exactly true and nobody disputes that.”
Rudy Giuliani, the attorney for President Donald Trump, said the actions of Biden, who is now running for president, regarding Ukraine need to be investigated before the 2020 election.
