Voters don’t like “changing the rules midstream,” and will resist Democratic efforts to do so, pollster Scott Rasmussen said Sunday.
In an interview on the premiere of Newsmax TV’s “Save the Nation,” Rasmussen said a progressive agenda is even turning off traditional Democratic voters.
“People don't like the sense of changing the rules midstream,” Rasmussen said of proposals like making Washington, D.C. a state.
“The biggest protection against issues like that — actually coming to fruition — is the fact that the Democratic Party is far more divided… between the ‘wolf’ progressive wing of the party and… traditional liberals, New Deal liberals,” he said.
According to Rasmussen, his polling on the issues shows Democrats “split right down the middle.”
“The more you push the ‘woke’ agenda, the more you push away some of those more moderate and traditional liberal Democrats,” he said.
“For all the talk we hear about the divisions among Republicans — and there are many among the voters — there is a greater consensus about the policy positions, whether or not you like [former President] Donald Trump,” he added. “Republicans say they want Trump policies over establishment policies.
Says Dems want voters to believe that everything they do in Washington will fix things, but the “American people are going to resist”
“What the Democrats want you to believe is that the wizards of Washington are gonna fix everything. Dorothy learned was that she had the power to bring about change herself, and that's what the American people need to take away from this moment and the further the Democrats pushed to the mysteries of letting politicians figure it out. The more the American people are going to resist. “
