Trump's monthly approval rating reached a high of 51 percent in February of last year, his first full month as president and decreased to a low of 42 percent in August 2017 before registering higher marks this year.

- Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 40 percent strongly disapproved. Meanwhile, 28 percent strongly approved, down a point from 29 percent in April.
- Although Trump is not particularly popular with many voters, only 20 percent think that Vice President Mike Pence would make a better president.
- 70 percent of voters say that Democrats running for Congress should focus on policy differences as their best strategy for victory and not on seeking Trump's impeachment.
Daily tracking results are collected via telephone and online surveys of 500 likely voters per night. The monthly numbers are based on approximately 10,000 interviews each month with likely voters. The margin of sampling error is less than +/- 1 percentage points, with a 95 percent level of confidence.
