Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., has done more than anyone else to help Russian President Vladimir Putin “sow seeds of discord” in America, Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, charged Sunday.

In an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Ratcliffe blamed Democrats for making Russian interference and influence so successful.

“I don't know anyone in the last three years who has done more to help Vladimir Putin and Russia with their efforts to sow seeds of discord and American election security than Adam Schiff has,” he charged.

“The issue is why has Russia is being so successful in shaking America's confidence in the integrity of our election. The reason is because Democrats keep perpetuating and accentuating and proliferating Russian propaganda for their political gain in their political motivation against Donald Trump.”

Ratcliffe said the Democrats have been motivated purely out of their hatred for  Trump.

“Democrats created the Steele dossier, peddled it to law enforcement and the intelligence community,” he argued. “They did that so the Democrats could falsely accuse the president of conspiring with Russia for a better part of three years now. Something [former special counsel Robert] Mueller said wasn't the case.

"It was the Democrats who put out a memo saying everything is done appropriately at the FISA court, that  there wasn't illegal surveillance. All of these things have been done by Democrats really for their political gain… everything that Russia tried to accomplish …the Democrats have been their biggest allies.”

Ratcliffe said he’s now looking hard at the reauthorization of FISA in the House, but thinks its whole predication is inappropriate.

“We know for a fact that the FBI director admitted to me last week that at least two of the four [sections] were illegal surveillance,” he said. “I don't think there was a proper predicate to do any of this… that any of this was appropriate.”
