Amid what President Donald Trump economic adviser Stephen Moore calls "a new cold war with China," the Trump administration is going to seek to have the originators of the global coronavirus pandemic pay reparations.
"There is hostility right now between these two countries," Moore told host John Catsimatidis on Sunday's "The Cats Roundtable" on WABC 770 AM-N.Y , per The Hill.
"I do believe that the Trump administration will require the Chinese at some point to pay some kind of reparation payments to the United States for not alerting us to the danger of the coronavirus and doing severe damage to our economy."
The administration is adamant the COVID-19 outbreak began in Wuhan, China, and more than just the U.S. will seek to hold China accountable.
"There's no question about it," Moore told Catsimatidis, per The Hill. "It is very suspicious to me: If their goal is world domination, one way of achieving that is by spreading this disease and disabling a lot of the economies they compete with. And they're going to have to pay."
