A new Hill-HarrisX poll shows a 2-point increase among Republican voters who support impeaching President Donald Trump.
Fourteen percent now say Trump should be removed from office, compared with 12% from a Sept. 26-27 poll.
The survey was released Monday as impeachment proceedings against Trump continue in the House.
The poll also found:
- 47% of all voters support impeachment, a 4-point increase since the September Hill-HarrisX poll.
- 81% of Democrat support impeachment proceedings, a 6-point increase since the last poll.
- 41% of Independent voters support impeachment, a 4-point increase.
The poll surveyed 1,001 registered voters and was conducted from Oct. 11-12, before White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney sparked a firestorm when he seemed to acknowledge Trump held up nearly $400 million of taxpayer-funded military aid for Ukraine in part because he wanted the Ukrainian government to investigate Democrats.
The margin of error for the full sampling is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
