President Donald Trump is praising CNN for its coverage of the Republican National Convention.
His comments came in a tweet Tuesday morning and offered rare praise of the network he has often accused of being “fake news.”
He wrote: “Very appreciative that @CNN covered the vast majority of the Republican Convention last night. That was really good for CNN, while at the same time being good for our Country. Thank you!”
Republicans, including Trump campaign adviser Brad Parscale, on Monday night complained that Fox News Channel carried little of the convention while CNN played almost all of it.
Trump had complained about spotty television coverage of the roll call vote that renominated him as the Republican candidate for president. Some networks abandoned Trump's informal, 54-minute acceptance speech for fact-checking.
Trump’s address was nearly twice as long as Joe Biden's acceptance speech this past Thursday, which was lasted for about 29 minutes.
NOTE: Newsmax TV offers continuing coverage of the Republican National Convention.
