Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., urged House lawmakers to restrict President Donald Trump from launching a pre-emptive nuclear attack on North Korea without congressional authorization.

Khanna's comments came in a tweet on Wednesday morning.

The tweet followed Trump's Twitter posting slamming North Korean leader Kim Jong Un about the size of his nuclear button.

The Hill reported another House Democrat, Rep. Eric Swalwell of California, had urged on Tuesday that lawmakers have a say on whether the president is able to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike. The website also noted that legislation has been introduced in both the House and Senate to curb Trump's ability to conduct such an attack.
