Sen. Mitt Romney says the Trump administration should hand over to Congress the transcript of President Donald Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, The Washington Times reports.

“I think it would be very helpful to get the transcript,” Romney told reporters Monday. “Absolutely let’s see the transcript.”

Romney on Sunday condemned the Trump-Ukraine allegations as “troubling in the extreme” and tweeted that it was “critical for the facts to come out.”

Trump spoke with Zelensky in late July. A whistleblower says he urged Zelensky to investigate Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden’s son ahead of the 2020 presidential election, though Trump has been defiant in his defense.

"The conversation I had was largely congratulatory, with largely corruption — all of the corruption taking place — largely the fact that we don't want our people like Vice President Biden and his son creating to the corruption already in the Ukraine and Ukraine has got a lot of problems,” Trump said Sunday. “The new president is saying that he's going to be able to rid the country of corruption, and I said that would be a great thing, we had a great conversation."
