The State Department is not sharing information about President Donald Trump's refugee travel ban with members of Congress, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida said Monday.

"They're aren't a lot of answers as of today. In fact, my staff was told the State Department, as of today, was ordered not to talk to Congress about this issue," the Florida Republican said Monday, according to Talking Points Memo. "I don't know the reason. Maybe, perhaps, they're still kind of working through how this is going to apply, so perhaps they don't want to give us information that is wrong."

Rubio and several other lawmakers want to know more about Trump's executive order from last Friday that suspends people from seven countries with a terror presence — Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen — from coming to the United States for 90 days. The directive also halted the U.S. refugee program for 120 days and the Syrian refugee program indefinitely.

In a joint statement with Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Rubio said Monday he is "uneasy" with Trump's immigration order.

Rubio's parents emigrated from Cuba to the U.S. in 1956.
