Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., saying faith in the election is as important as the outcome, maintained courts should be allowed to decide claims of voting irregularities “on the basis of evidence.”
Rubio’s comments came in a Friday tweet.
He wrote: “Faith in our election is as important as the outcome. Preserving it requires not allowing the outcome to be decided by either the media or a candidate. Transparently count every legally cast vote & allow courts to decide claims of irregularities or fraud on the basis of evidence.”
His comments came as President Donald Trump said he would "easily" win the election if just the "legal votes" were counted. He claimed that in some cases, observers were not permitted to watch the vote counting and any tallies compiled during that time are "illegal."
Trump, in an early morning tweet, said the U.S Supreme Court should decide the election.
