Though Democrats portray Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as a bully, that title is better suited to his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, talk radio host Rush Limbaugh says.
Trump, a billionaire real estate developer and casino magnate, was thought of highly two decades ago when he was able to bounce back from economic adversity, Limbaugh said on his syndicated radio show on Tuesday. But now his success at bringing his businesses back from the brink and saving jobs is portrayed in a negative light.
"'We've got to make sure that guys like Trump are intimidated and never ever again try to be like Trump. No way. No how. Because Trump is scum.' That's what they want you to think," Limbaugh said.
Democrats portray Trump as a bully saying mean things about women and make it look like he violated the law by taking advantage of legal tax deductions, he said.
"The real bully is Hillary Clinton. Her husband’s another real bully. They’re cads," Limbaugh said. "They don’t have great compassion for people. They look at people with contempt. I maintain to you that a bunch of people who want everybody to be the same under the misguided premise of equality? Those are not compassionate people."
The Clintons actually don't trust other people and want to control them, he said.
"So you have to strip them of their dignity, of the things that make them unique, the things that set them apart and punish the things that they achieve in, and that's the modern day Democrat Party from Barack Obama on down," he said. "That's the modern movement of liberalism."
