NBC/WSJ Poll: Sanders Stronger Than Clinton Against Trump

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is stronger in a general election matchup against Republican Donald Trump than is former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll of registered voters.

Though Clinton leads Sanders in the primary process by 25 percent in the same poll, respondents like Sanders best against Trump. He has a 15-point lead over Trump, according to the poll, whereas Clinton's lead over Trump is only 10 percent.
  • Bernie Sanders: 54 percent
  • Donald Trump: 39 percent

  • Hillary Clinton: 51 percent
  • Donald Trump: 41 percent
The poll was conducted January 9-13 and talked to 800 registered voters. It has a margin of error of plus-minus 3.5 percentage points.
