Scaramucci Says Trump Will 'Whip' Dems 'Pretty Good' in Midterms

By    |   Tuesday, 24 April 2018 01:44 PM EDT

Republicans will remain in the majority in the House of Representatives in the midterm elections, former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci predicted Tuesday.

Scaramucci said that Democrats focusing on topics such as raising taxes and impeaching President Donald Trump would not work for them.

"The Democrats coming at (Trump) like that, he’ll whip them pretty good,” Scaramucci said Tuesday on Fox News' "Fox & Friends."

Tax reforms will be key, Scaramucci said.

"The very good news … is that (investment capital) is going to start to filter into wage data as we go into the midterms. And once again, I think the president is going to surprise people, because the expectation is that we are going to lose the House,” Scaramucci said.

"People are unleashing cash … most corporations large and small were very defensive in the (Barack) Obama administration, because of the excess regulation. We built up trillions of dollars of cash on the S&P 500. The president’s tax reform is actually unleashing that cash and getting deployed into the marketplace, at the small company level and the large company level. That means more jobs, more growth, more investment capital,” Scaramucci said.

The former communications director also discussed during the interview Trump’s relationships with European leaders.

"He can operate in a world of that intellectual elitism, but he also understands the common decency of the American people.”
