White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Wednesday said that Vice President Mike Pence will head up a voter fraud task force and that he's in the midst of selecting members, The Hill reported.
It puts into motion a panel to investigate President Donald Trump's claim that 3 million to 5 million people voted illegally, costing him the popular vote. Trump won the electoral vote in a landslide.
"He named the task force, and the vice president is starting to gather names and individuals to be a part of it," Spicer said during the press briefing.
Spicer gave no timetable or any indication of who Pence might be targeting to be part of the panel, the Hill reported.
Trump most recently brought up the subject Feb. 10 when he said former Sen. Kelly Ayotte would have been re-elected in New Hampshire if not for voters who bused in from out of state.
