Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., said Sunday he was not committed to the Senate GOP's healthcare bill unveiled on Thursday, The Hill reported Sunday.

Speaking to a group of donors at a Koch Brothers summit on Sunday, Sasse described the Senate bill as more like a "Medicaid reform package" than legislation that would actually repeal and replace Obamacare.

"I have nothing to announce," Sasse said, regarding his position on the proposed legislation.

Noting that Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn was in attendance at the event which raises money for the political network overseen by billionaires Charles and David Koch, Sasse joked, "I have a bruise just inside my collarbone from his thumb on me," the Washington Examiner reported.

Five other Republican senators have said they could not support the bill in its current form for various reasons and other GOP senators said they needed more time to review it. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has indicated he wanted the bill brought before the Senate this week for a vote.
