Senate Again Fails to Pass Coronavirus Help Bill

Monday, 23 March 2020 02:17 PM EDT

After days of around-the-clock negotiating, the U.S. Senate on Monday again failed to advance legislation that would pump well over $1 trillion into the American economy to programs to help companies losing business during the coronavirus outbreak.

The measure faltered after it failed to get the necessary 60 votes in the 100-member chamber to clear it over a procedural hurdle.
