Steve Doocy, one of the hosts of television’s “Fox & Friends,” is urging President Donald Trump to wear a mask in public during the pandemic.
His comments came Tuesday during an interview with Ronna McDaniel, chairwoman of the Republican National Convention.
“I think that if the president wore one, it would just set a good example,” he said. “He’d be a good role model, I don’t see any downside to the president wearing a mask in public.”
Doocy even suggested an updated play on Trump’s campaign slogan. “MAGA should now stand for 'Masks Are Great Again,'” he said.
Meanwhile, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo wants Trump to issue an executive order mandating "everyone to wear a mask" in public.
Cuomo called on Trump to "lead by example" and wear a mask himself.
