Incoming North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis says the first thing he and his fellow GOP colleagues will do is restore "regular order."
Among other things, regular order allows any member of either party large leeway in offering amendments to bills, and basically says the House and Senate will abide by their own rules.
Outgoing Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid didn't even allow members of his own party to offer amendments and saw to it that no controversial legislation made it to President Barack Obama's desk.
Tills, appearing Sunday on
ABC's "This Week," said that just focusing on getting Congress back to functioning as normal will allow Republicans to "start doing things that heal the economy and get our job-creation situation, and a number of other things, back on track."
