Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., said that Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., believed that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia in the 2016 presidential election before an investigative committee's work had begun.
"Some of my colleagues have already made up their minds, namely Adam Schiff. He found collusion before we even started. I'm not sure how you do that, but he did it," said Gowdy, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, about Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.
Gowdy said that he had not seen evidence of collusion between Trump and the Russians, but said he wants to get more answers from former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon and to continue the probe.
The congressman also slammed Schiff on Jan. 8 during a Fox News interview. "You can't have confidence in an investigation where the ranking Democrat prejudges it before you've interviewed your very first witness," Gowdy said.
