Republican Trey Gowdy teed off on Democrats for their lack of curiosity with FBI malfeasance while prejudging President Donald Trump before the first witness was even called regarding collusion with Russia.
The top Democrat in the crosshairs of Gowdy — Rep. Adam Schiff.
"Some of my Democrat colleagues, namely Adam Schiff, said he had evidence — more than circumstantial evidence of collusion before the investigation even began," Schiff said on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures" show with Maria Bartiromo.
"The ranking Democrat on the House Intel Committee had evidence of collusion before we interviewed our very first witness," said Gowdy, R-SC, chairman of the House Oversight Committee.
"I do have confidence that Bob Mueller will reach the right decision and interview the right people . . . but you can't have confidence in an investigation where the ranking Democrat prejudges it before you've interviewed your very first witness," Gowdy said about Schiff, suggesting the California Democrat is auditioning for the Senate.
Gowdy also marveled at how 60 Democrats already have reached the conclusion to impeach Trump before special counsel Robert Mueller — or any congressional committee — has released any findings.
"House Democrats have already made up their minds and they're going in search of evidence that validates or ratifies what they already believe," Gowdy said.
Meanwhile, Democrats don't seem to be too concerned that the FBI was anything but "bias-free and dispassionate" about Trump's election and the agency's investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server.
"I think the DOJ and the FBI would admit to you that they did things in this case they had never done in any other one. Now that doesn't necessarily mean a sinister or nefarious motive, it could mean this was just a really unusual fact pattern," Gowdy told Bartiromo.
"I have been frankly stunned at how little curiosity my Democrat colleagues, and how little curiosity some elements of the mainstream media have in the decisions that our nation's chief law enforcement agency and top prosecutors have made," Gowdy said.
