Donald Trump may return to calling fellow presidential candidate Ted Cruz "Lyin' Ted," according to Trump spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Sanders, former candidate Mike Huckabee's daughter, said in a CNN interview with Chris Cuomo on "New Day." "I wouldn't be so sure to erase that," said Sanders, according to a report in
Politico.
Trump has frequently referred to Ted Cruz as "Lyin' Ted" on social media and elsewhere, but in his victory speech after his New York primary win, Trump called his opponent "Senator Cruz."
Sanders said Trump using the nickname depends on Cruz's actions as the race for the nomination continues.
"My guess is it will still pop up from time to time," Sanders said. "A lot of that will depend on how Ted Cruz reacts over the next few days."
Trump called Cruz the nickname as recently as April 18, on Trump's Twitter account.
