President Donald Trump, in back-to-back tweets Friday morning, blasted Hillary Clinton for trying to shut Bernie Sanders out of the Democratic presidential nomination, a reaction to explosive charges from a former Democratic Party leader.

Trump was responding to accusations from Donna Brazile, a former interim chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

In a new book, she accused Clinton of trying to take over a party left nearly bankrupt by former President Barack Obama and to shut the Vermont senator out of the race for the party's presidential nomination last year.
