Donald Trump's campaign will begin meeting with lawmakers in Washington, D.C. on a regular basis starting next week as he looks forward in his quest to become president.
According to
ABC News, members of Trump's campaign staff are slated to meet with members of the legislative branch who support his White House bid. The co-chairman of Trump's House Leadership Committee — Reps. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif. and Chris Collins, R-N.Y. — will reportedly lead next week's meeting in the nation's capital.
Ed Brookover, a senior advisor to Trump and the campaign's liaison to the Republican National Committee and members of Congress, will also attend the meetings, reports ABC.
Nine members of congress have endorsed Trump at this point in the campaign season.
Last week, Trump said he would open an office in Alexandria, Va. that would assist in communications between the campaign and the RNC as he vies for the presidential nomination.
On March 31, Trump and some of his top aides
met with members of the RNC to discuss how they could better work together. Afterward, Trump called it "a very good meeting. Actually a terrific meeting, I think. It's really a unity meeting."
That same day,
Trump picked Hunter and Collins to co-lead his House committee.
"I am honored to have the support of these two well respected Members of Congress who share my vision of securing our borders, strengthening our military, treating our veterans with the respect and care they deserve and putting Americans first again," Trump said.
