President Donald Trump sent out a tweet on Sunday criticizing anchor Mike Wallace and Fox News following a news broadcast on the network.
"Just watched Mike Wallace wannabe, Chris Wallace, on @FoxNews," Trump wrote. "I am now convinced that he is even worse than Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd of Meet the Press (please!), or the people over at Deface the Nation. What the hell is happening to @FoxNews. It’s a whole new ballgame over there!"
What part of "Fox News Sunday" that the president did not like was unclear, according to The Hill.
Jedediah Bila, a weekend co-host of "Fox & Friends," fired back at Trump's "3rd grade name-calling," adding that Wallace "is doing his job."
"Enough with the 3rd grade name-calling. Chris is doing his job. The news should not be any president’s friend, ally, or buddy. If it bothered you when Obama complained about Fox News, but you’re silent on this complete nonsense, then just stop," she tweeted Sunday afternoon. "Seriously. Enough."
A Fox News representative did not comment, instead referring to past responses by Wallace when Trump has lashed out at him and made references to his late father, who was a long-time CBS News journalist.
Chris Wallace quipped following one of Trump's criticisms that "My reaction is always: One of us has a daddy problem, and it's not me."
After making a point of praising Fox News, as compared to most other media outlets, during his presidential campaign and first years in the White House, Trump has attacked the network repeatedly over the past year.
