CNN has parted ways with pro-Trump contributors Jack Kingston and André Bauer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Bauer was formerly the lieutenant governor of South Carolina and Kingston represented Georgia’s 1st congressional district in the House from 1993 to 2015.
"I am very thankful for the opportunity CNN gave me," Bauer told THR. "The silent majority in our country feel like they do not have a voice in politics or the media. I have tried to express many of their feelings and why they supported Donald Trump."
CNN, which also recently cut ties with progressives Michael Nutter and Page Pate, told Mediaite the move was part of the "natural churn of contributors."
According to The Wrap, "Trump defenders have long been an endangered species at CNN."
From late 2016 through September 2018, six conservative CNN contributors were axed, including Corey Lewandowski, Scottie Nell Hughes, Jeffrey Lord, Ed Martin, Paris Dennard, and Jason Miller, per the Wrap.
"No one really knows" why CNN cannot hold on to right-leaning voices, one source told The Wrap. "It would be clearer if they were leaving all for the same reason, but that's not the case."
