President-elect Donald Trump's transition team Thursday was quick to pounce on some good news.

The same morning Amazon.com announced it would create 100,000 new jobs in the U.S. over the next 18 months, Trump press secretary Sean Spicer claimed credit on behalf of the president-elect.

"The president-elect was pleased to play role in that decision," Spicer told reporters, according to The Hill.

Spicer said Amazon's announcement came a few weeks after Trump met with "heads of tech companies and urged them to keep jobs in the U.S," the Washington Examiner reported.

The Examiner reports Trump has similarly taken credit for convincing Verizon and Ford to keep jobs in the U.S.
