Trump: 'The Jury's Still Out' on FBI Director Christopher Wray

President Donald Trump said “the jury’s still out” regarding FBI Director Christopher Wray after charges were dropped against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Trump’s comments came during a Friday interview on television’s “Fox & Friends” when he was asked about Wray’s handling of the FBI’s investigation of Flynn.

"Look the jury's still out with regard to that, but it would have been a lot easier if he came out rather than skirting and going through, you know, 19 different ways except through the FBI, so let's see.”

And he said: “Well, a lot of things are going to be told over the next couple of weeks and let’s see what happens. You’ll see a lot of things coming out. It’s disappointing.”

Also on Friday, Trump had tweeted that “there is much more to come” in the wake of the charges being dropped against Flynn. Prosecutors in the case had maintained that Flynn had lied to the FBI about his conversations with the Russian ambassador in a January 2017 interview.

But the Justice Department said Thursday it had found that Flynn’s interview by the FBI was “untethered to, and unjustified by, the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into Mr. Flynn.”

Officials have noted the interview on Jan. 24, 2017 was “conducted without any legitimate investigative basis.”

The decision to drop the charge came amid an internal review into the handling of the case.

Wray assumed the job as FBI director after Trump had fired James Comey.
