President Donald Trump said he doesn’t know if Rudy Giuliani is still his personal attorney.
He made the comment at the White House Friday in response to a reporter’s question.
"Well, I don't know. I haven't spoken to Rudy. I spoke to him yesterday briefly. He's a very good attorney and he has been my attorney, yeah, sure," he said.
But CNN, citing an unnamed source, reported the former New York City mayor will remain on the president’s legal team, just not handling any matters related to Ukraine.
"There are no Ukraine issues,” Giuliani told CNN in response. “I finished that in March. I'm still representing him."
Giuliani is being scrutinized by federal investigators for his financial dealings, following the indictment of two of his associates on charges of violating campaign finance laws, according to a law enforcement official.
The associates had key roles in Giuliani's efforts to launch a Ukrainian corruption investigation against Democratic presidential contender Joe Biden and his son Hunter, CNN reported.
