Donald Trump Jr. reacted to Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., announcing his plans to resign Thursday by poking fun at his days as a "Saturday Night Live" cast member.
Franken spoke on the Senate floor and said he will step down from his role as a senator in the coming weeks after several women have accused him of sexual misconduct. Before he became a politician in 2009, Franken was a comedian.
Trump Jr.'s quote was in reference to a character Franken played on "SNL" named Stuart Smalley who starred in the show's "Daily Affirmations With Stuart Smalley" segment. The actual quote that Franken, playing the role of Smalley, would say, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me."
Franken also authored a book about the character called, "You're Good Enough, You're Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like You."
