Fears of mass protests could keep President Donald Trump away from London during his planned trip to the United Kingdom this summer, the Daily Mail is reporting.
Trump is scheduled to meet with British Prime Minister Theresa May during his July 13 trip, the newspaper noted. And it said he may also meet with Queen Elizabeth, as well. But Trump's critics in London have vowed to take to the streets in protest during his visit.
Concern over violent protests by "left-wing rabble-rousers" have British officials looking at whether to schedule those meetings outside of London, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper said Trump could end up meeting May in her country retreat and with the Queen in Scotland.
The BBC reported Trump’s trip presents a logistical issue on how to keep demonstrators away. It quoted one unnamed British official as saying the president will not go anywhere where he can be publicly shouted at.
