President Donald Trump complained on Twitter Saturday that there was little reporting done about GDP numbers that hit three percent.
According to the first estimate of the third-quarter GDP, the three percent target was reached for two quarters in a row, despite devastating hurricanes and Congress' failure to approve healthcare reform measures.
Proponents of tax reform legislation say their plans will produce growth of three to four percent. A tax bill is expected to be presented before Thanksgiving, with a goal of having it on Trump's desk by the end of the year.
The third quarter growth numbers are higher than the estimated growth, set at 2.5 percent, and follow a 3.1 percent growth rate in the second quarter, marking the best consecutive quarters since 2014.
