Donald Trump may have set up the most accessible Oval Office in modern history, Politico reported.

Various aides have walk-in privileges to the Oval Office, including chief strategist Steve Bannon, senior policy adviser Stephen Miller, chief of staff Reince Priebus, son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, counselor Kellyanne Conway, adviser Omarosa Manigault, White House Counsel Don McGahn and others.

The website noted that no formal list exists of who is allowed in. And, it said, even lower-level staff can get permission to go in when needed.

"I've never been told no," one White House staff said.

Their level of easy access is a departure from the Obama administration, the website said. A number of Obama aides, including senior officials, could not walk in without an appointment, Politico reported.

"The president likes to be accessible, including with his staff, and will continue that," a White House official said.

Politico reported Trump has said his team has no formal chain of command, which means no single person controls the flow of information to Trump.

And, it pointed out, this is the way Trump has always been.

"At his office in Trump Tower, former staff said, it was rare the boss would not welcome an aide into his 26th floor office," Politico reported.

He even wrote about his open door policy in his book, "The Art of the Deal," according to Politico.

"Most people are surprised by the way I work," he wrote. "I play it very loose… I try not to schedule too many meetings. I leave my door open… I prefer to come to work each day and just see what develops."
