President Donald Trump touted the success of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, saying nearly 1 million pounds of medications were disposed of.

Trump's comments came in a Monday tweet.

According to the Washington Examiner, Trump had asked Americans to use last Saturday "to clean out your medicine cabinet to get rid of your unneeded or expired pills so that your home does not contribute to an overdose, or create or fuel an abuse of addiction problem."

The program allowed people to get rid of any unused prescription drugs at designation locations across the country.
