President Donald Trump tweeted on Saturday he would be holding a "BIG rally in Pennsylvania" next Saturday evening, the same night as the White House Correspondents Dinner, The Hill reported.
The president announced in February he would break with tradition and not attend the annual event hosted by the White House Correspondents' Association, scheduled for April 29 at the Washington Hilton. The White House staff also will not attend the dinner attended by lawmakers and celebrities, Politico reported last month.
Trump also took to Twitter on Saturday regarding tax reform, writing "Big TAX REFORM AND TAX REDUCTION will be announced next Wednesday."
Trump announced Friday that a tax plan to be unveiled next week would include a "massive tax cut" for businesses and individuals, the New York Daily News reported Friday.
However, Trump's "big announcement" on Wednesday concerning tax reform is one that is widely disputed as White House budget director Mick Mulvaney has been saying that a full tax bill won't likely happen by the time its official budget is released by the end of May.
