President Donald Trump said Tuesday that "I feel sure that my friend," longtime Obamacare critic Sen. Rand Paul, will support to Republican legislation introduced Monday to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
Trump made the comment on Twitter:
Paul, the two-term Kentucky Republican, ripped the GOP plan and introduced his own bill Tuesday that would repeal Obamacare outright — with plans for a replacement bill to come later.
Trump endorsed the measure by House Republicans Tuesday, calling it "good healthcare."
"I'm proud to support the replacement plan released by the House of Representatives and encouraged by members of both parties," he told reporters at White House.
"We're going to have something that's going to be much more understood and much more popular than people can even imagine."
