President Donald Trump retweeted himself on Friday — repeating his claim for the second time since Wednesday that the U.S. is not in a trade war with China.

He maintained the war was lost years ago by "the foolish, or incompetent people who represented the U.S."

China had warned on Friday it would fight back with fresh trade measures, hours after Trump threatened an additional $100 billion in tariffs on Chinese goods.

Earlier in the week, China had unveiled a list of 106 U.S. Goods targeted for tariffs. That move came only hours after the administration proposed tariffs on some 1,300 Chinese industrial, technology, transport and medical products.
