Donald Trump told a room full of supporters Wednesday why he chose to run for President, invited Bernie Sanders supporters to join the Trump movement, and made a promise to the American people.
"When people ask me, why I am running I very quickly answer, I'm running to give back to this country which has been so very good to me," Trump said in New York City. "I'm running for president to end the unfairness and put you the American worker first. It's about time."
Trump called on Sanders supporters to help his movement, to fight and fix the "rigged" system which caters to special interest groups while shafting the American people.
"That's why we're asking Bernie Sanders voters to join our movement so together we can fix the system for all Americans," Trump said.
Trump's early salvo about why he should be the country's choice for President can be found in her slogan.
"She believes she's entitled to the office. Her campaign slogan is 'I'm with her.' You know what my response is to that? I'm with you, the American people," Trump told the crowd.
Trump also made an early promise.
"Here's my promise to the American voter. If I'm elected president, I will end the special interest monopoly in Washington, D.C.," Trump said. "The other candidate in this race has spent her entire life making money for special interests and made plenty of money for them."
